Maximo Anywhere - Scope
IBM Maximo Anywhere provides a set of
resources for building and deploying mobile apps that integrate with IBM Maximo
Asset Management. These apps extend the scope of your enterprise system by
providing mobile users with protected access to data and services anytime and
anywhere.
With Maximo Anywhere mobile apps, mobile
workers can work online and offline. When the worker is online, the app is
connected to the server, and data is synchronized in real time. When the worker
is offline, the app is disconnected from the server but remains operational.
The worker can continue to work with
secure data collections that are stored on the device. Data is synchronized
when connectivity is restored.
Maximo Anywhere is built on the IBM MobileFirst
Platform Foundation framework. The MobileFirst framework includes a range of
platform and server components that you use to manage the application lifecycle
and to connect mobile apps with the enterprise system during run time.
Implementation
1. Prepare the environment for building
the mobile apps:
·
Android Install the Android development
tools.
·
IOS install the iOS development tools.
·
Windows Install the Windows development tools
2. Install Maximo Anywhere.
3. Create a MobileFirst runtime
environment.
4. Deploy the apps (OOB Apps for
modifications or new apps)
IBM Maximo Anywhere mobile apps run on
the Android, iOS, and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Modify the user interface of Maximo
Anywhere mobile apps, such as changing field labels, adding fields, or adding
views by updating the application artifact files for the app in IBM MobileFirst
Platform Studio.
Security
Maximo Anywhere users are defined in
Maximo Asset Management and are subject to the security controls that are
implemented in that system. You configure Maximo Anywhere to extend these
security controls to mobile device users and to increase security during
communication with the server.
